Abstract

Exotropia is a condition in which there is a misalignment of the visual axes and a difference in eye symmetry. This can lead to diplopia (double vision) and a decrease in visual acuity. In some cases, the head may also change position to help the affected eye focus on distant objects. The main concerns for patients with exotropia are visual acuity, the appearance of their eyes, and cosmetic postures.
